6-8 Person Traditional Outdoor Sauna AU

The 6-8 person outdoor sauna is our favourite model. The large window lets in light and allows you to enjoy the view during regular sauna sessions, while the longer benches of 2.2 m allows you to lie down fully outstretched, our most requested feature.

Size & Seating Capacity
Our sauna capacity is calculated based on approximately 60 cm of bench space per person. This represents the maximum seating capacity. If you prefer a more spacious experience, you may choose to accommodate fewer people.
 
Heater: Electric Sauna
We use a 8kw SAWO electric heater for this model. Enjoy temperatures of 80-100 degrees Celsius, with scented waves of heat, by pouring water mixed with essential oils on the hot stones.
 
Materials - An Outdoor Sauna
 
The outdoor sauna is constructed using high-quality, sustainable materials, including thermally modified NZ Radiata, mineral board wall lining, sheep's wool insulation, and Douglas Fir framing. The sauna is built by licensed builders to the same specifications as a home, creating the most durable sauna you can buy for the outdoors.
 
Shipping to Australia
 
Our saunas are built in NZ and shipped to Australia. The cost of shipping to Sydney, Melbourne and Brisbourne is included in the price, other locations may have different prices. You will need to pay Australian Customs a $218 AUD Compile Fee and 10% GST, which you can claim back if you're running a business. A hiab will then need to be organised to collect from the depot.
 
Installation
 
All electric saunas require installation of the heater by an electrician. Heaters run on single phase electricity supply, so all households can enjoy an outdoor sauna in their garden.
 
Foundation
 
Saunas can be installed on all standard foundations. We recommend using ground screws for the most sustainable solution. The sauna is built on a galvanised steel frame with bearers 2400 mm long and 1800 mm apart, measured to the outer edges, and are 50 mm thick.

    • What is the current lead time?
      The next available order would be ready Mid July.
    • Is shipping included in the price for NZ sales?
      Shipping of our home saunas is not included in the price, they will be quoted to the buyer's nearest Mainfreight Depot, from where the buyer organises delivery to final location by Hiab. All portable saunas are to be picked up from Christchurch.
    • Do I need an electrician to wire in electric heaters?
      Yes, a qualified electrician is required to wire in all electric saunas.
    • Which sauna is big enough to lie down in?
      Our 6-8 person sauna is 1.8 x 2.4m, allowing two people to lie fully outstretched.
    • Do you ship your saunas to Australia?
      Yes, we ship our outdoor home saunas and portable saunas to Sydney, Melbourne, Brisbane and Perth. Get in touch for other location.
    • How is the sauna paid for?
      All saunas are built to order and require full upfront payment via invoice.
    • Do you have gas powered saunas?
      We do not currently offer gas powered saunas or infrared saunas, only wood-fired and electric saunas.
    • Do you build infrared saunas?
      We can build infrared saunas on request, get touch for more information.
    • Can the saunas run off solar power?
      Please ask your electrician, the power of each sauna is stated on its respective product page. For off-grid saunas, we recommend using one of our wood-fired saunas.
    • Can you build the 2-3 person sauna with a wood-fired heater?
      We cannot build a 2-3 person wood-fired sauna . The fireplace requires more space, therefore, the 6-8 person sauna is the smallest model we offer with a wood-fired heating option.
    • Do you offer financing?
      We do not offer financing for any of our home sauna or portable saunas.
    • Do you sell building plans?
      We do not sell our building plans for our outdoor saunas.
